As I sat and watched in an online Messianic chat, there were some who claimed that the right way is to use the Hebrew names for God and Jesus. I asked them that if Gods chosen people spoke english if they think he would have spoken to them in english. They couldn't, or perhaps wouldn't reply. So I asked them to present scripture that would substantiate their claims for which they could produce nothing. They portray God as petty and small minded by their thinking and practices.

Which should I use so that I might have eternal life? Yeshua, Yehushua? I think that when I pray to Jesus that God knows who I am speaking to, or when I pray to God he knows who I am speaking to.

I gave many scripture passages about how speaking in an unknown tongue does not edify and that it's better to speak the language everyone present understands.

Beware of those who present mans teachings as doctrine. Paul, once himself a Pharisee, fought diligently against people who worked to make new Christians become "Jewish." One of the biggest sins of the Pharisees was when they strapped heavy religious burdens on the backs of the people. These same kind of pepole are alive today in the church with their sacred names and Jewish rituals.

Many of them claim that the Greek word "Iesous" is pagan. Of course, there is no scholarly proof for such a statement. The Judaization of the Church in the past few years has done much damage to the body of Christ because it creates division. The Messianics claim that they are non-denominational because denomination means "division." Yet their belief system creates division and discord among the brethren since it is not founded on sound doctrine.

God knows and understands every language - Greek, Hebrew, English, Portuguese, Tagalog and all the other languages. He understands what you are saying to him when you are on your knees talking to Him in Spanish, English or Russian and even if you use the word "Jesus," or whatever its transliteration is in another language.

The histerical part of all of this is that they can't agree on whether Jesus should be called Yeshua, Yashua, Ye'Hoshua, or any of a dozen other take-offs on the pronunciation. Only one of these pronunciations will get you into God's Kingdom (Golly, I hope I'm in the right pronunciation group).

God wants a personal relationship with his people. He doesn't care what language you speak, he looks upon the heart and that is what he wants to be right. A pure heart and people obedient to him. He is coming for a church without spot and without wrinkle. Let's not be narrow minded and think that we have to use the right word and correct pronounciation to make eternity. God wants to know us, and for us to know him.
